About Natural Violet...

I founded Natural Violet in 1998. The name comes from "Natural" for the use of natural fibers and "Violet" after my sweet calico kitty. Violet sadly passed away on November 2, 2006 from lung disease. She was the heart and soul of Natural Violet and my hope is her playful spirit will live on in future creations. I have a craft studio in my home in Charlottesville, VA, where I live with my husband, Chris, my two cats, Simon and Storm and coming soon our little baby boy "Jonas Bruce". He is due the beginning of May 2008 and hence I have been a little slow on updating the website. I have been knitting and sewing for our little guy, so please check out www.jonasbruce.blogspot.com to see the hemp diapers in progress. A little more information about me. I am a self taught knitter, sewer and dyer. I love working with bright colors and am especially fond of dyeing both fabric and yarn. Colors in nature inspire me as well as a love for animals. Everything sold through Natural Violet is hand made by me in my home studio. I sell my items through my website and at art and craft shows.
